1 Timeless Lesson for Finding Strength in Hard Times

1 TIMELESS LESSON FOR FINDING STRENGTH IN HARD TIMES

Angel Chernofff

I think just above every one of us is experiencing some level of pain or uncertainty right now. How about YOU?

One timeless lesson Marc and I have been keeping top of mind is that we are all in this together. None of us are ever alone with our problems. No matter how troubled or pathetic you feel about your own present situation, know that there are others nearby experiencing the same emotions right now. When you hear yourself say, “I am all alone in this,” it’s just your worried mind trying to sell you a lie.

In these difficult times, challenge your inner self-talk. Get some outside perspective. Don’t be scared to let someone else in if you find yourself in a dark place. And don’t expect them to solve all your problems either. Just allow them to face your problems with you. Give them permission to stand beside you. They won’t necessarily be able to pull you out of the dark place you’re in, but the light that spills in when they enter will at least show you which way the door is.

We would be honored to guide you forward in the days ahead.

Truth be told, Marc and I have walked a path of pain and uncertainty many times in our lives. Just over a decade ago, in quick succession, we dealt with several significant, unexpected losses and life changes, back-to-back, including losing my brother to suicide, losing a mutual best friend to cardiac arrest, financial turmoil, and more. Trials and tragedies strike indiscriminately and nobody is guaranteed safety. But, by changing our thinking, Marc and I have learned that hard times and rocky patches can become the proving ground for achieving renewed happiness and peace of mind.

At our most recent live seminar, Think Better, Live Better 2020, Marc and I shared our personal journey and a detailed roadmap for getting through hard times. To be perfectly honest, what we shared is precisely what we wish we would have known ten years ago when life seemed like an unending emotional assault. The darkness Marc and I endured was profound and, in many ways, gave us the tools and experiences we needed to help us share our journey back to happiness, peace, and personal success.

The bottom line is that when you can change the way you think, you can master a new way to be through good times and hard times.
